Lovely B&B

Wow! Edward and Cynzia have a beautiful home and are wonderful hosts. Our room, Amarillo, was spacious and comfortable. No detailed was overlooked. Each room has a sound machine and all of the standard amenities. The common area has coffee and snacks. The property is spacious and peaceful. I had quite a few questions before our stay and Edward and Cynzia were always quick to respond via email. If you have a request I am sure they will find a way to accommodate!

A great place to stay during the Masters Tournament

Edward and Cynzia, thank you for your hospitality, friendliness, beautiful home and charming setting. Your place is off the beaten path, so to speak, but not inconvenient. I will share our experience at the Gillen House every chance I get. You two are great.

Loved this bed and breakfast!

We had a most relaxing spur of the moment visit. Edward and Cynzia gave us a tour and history of the home. We enjoyed seeing Cynzia’s artwork and studio. Edwards breakfast was delicious! Our room was perfect and the bed so comfortable! There was a common area upstairs complete with snacks, great coffee and other drinks. Edward even had some appetizers for us before we headed out to dinner. We loved meeting the resident cat RickyBobby. There are several areas to relax including a cozy front porch and a screened porch on the back upper level. You won’t be disappointed and we hope to be back!

We loved everything about the Gillen House. We felt as if we were being welcomed home, even though we had never stayed at The Gillen House. I especially loved the books, the cats, and the amazing artwork by the owners. The Gillen house is beautifully landscaped, and I definitely recommend spending time outside on one of the many inviting porches.

We loved everything about it!!

We had such a great weekend staying at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast. The couple who owns it was so accommodating and just delightful in every way. The property is gorgeous, the food is impeccable, and we will definitely be back in the future!

We were riding through Maxeys, GA when we realized my husband's motorcycle had a flat. While we were getting the tire plugged, Edward & Cynzia, of The Gillen House drove by and offered us water & a bathroom break if needed. We took them up on their offer, & realized that we wouldn't make it home with the tire. While we waited on a ride home, Edward & Cynzia were the most gracious hosts, even though they had things to do. The Gillen House is absolutely beautiful! Cynzia is a fabulous artist and architect! Edward is a chef and an artist of many things! We didn't stay this time, but will be back to visit, and to enjoy lunch or dinner with some friends! (They don't serve a regular lunch or dinner unless you call ahead to make arrangements.

Our stay with Edward and Cynzia was great. I say it like this because we weren't just paying customers, we were guest’s in their home. Hospitality should be in their name. In our opinion we would have to give the Gillen House a 5 out of 5.

Amazing! beautiful rooms with gorgeous decor and stunning artwork. Cynzia and Edward made us feel like old friends. I only wish we could stay longer. 10 out of 10 ❤️

The Gillen House is so much more than a beautiful old house with a comfortable bed and nice outdoor spaces. It is a place where you are made to feel welcome and at ease from the moment you arrive until the time you leave (reluctantly.) There is an art to that. Cynzia and Edward greeted us warmly in the foyer, showed us around, and told the story of the house and its history, but also spent time with us over drinks and dinner. We connected on a variety of topics and had a great time. And that is where our “overnight stay” became an “all-around experience.” With so few chances for in-person interaction this last year, it was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
