COVID-19 Statement and Cautions
October 1, 2021
To our Valued Visitors and Guests,
The Gillen House Bed and Breakfast will continue to closely monitor the statements and information distributed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and will follow guidelines from these agencies and our local health departments.
The wellbeing of our guests is of paramount importance and we will remain focused on sharing the most up-to-date information with our teams and guests.
Our Commitment to Cleanliness:
We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to improve the safety of our guests and associates. On a daily basis, we are actively complying with the latest guidance and recommendations from the CDC, WHO as well as industry associations regarding hygiene and cleaning. Our health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from hand washing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.
Specific steps we are taking at The Gillen House include:
At Arrival: We ask you if you have any symptoms.
Face Masks: We request that guests wear face coverings if not vaccinated for COVID-19. Guests who are vaccinated are not required to wear face masks unless they desire to do so.
Hand Hygiene: Proper and frequent hand washing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. We know that cleanliness starts with this simple act. We will be practicing this act frequently and will ask our guests to do the same. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the property.
Cleaning Products and Protocols: The Gillen House B&B uses cleaning products and protocols that are effective against viruses. We will clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces daily in public areas (e.g. tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, light switches, phones, handles, desks, toilets, sinks)
Guest Rooms: We use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after each guest departs and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.
Tours of other guest bedrooms, and kitchen area will not be allowed. Hand sanitizer will be provided in each room for guests to use during their stay.
Public Spaces: We have significantly increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the public spaces, door handles, bathrooms and even room keys. Sanitizing wipes will be provided for guests to use.
Dining Room: Guests will be served breakfast and dinner at separate tables appropriately spaced or at separate times.
Back of House: In the spaces where we work “behind the scenes,” we have increased the frequency of cleaning with a special focus on high-touch areas like entrances, the laundry room and entrance areas.
